The Massachusetts Port Authority on Monday opened a $23.5 million bypass road for commercial traffic at Logan International Airport.

The two-lane road, between Logan and Chelsea Street, near the Chelsea Street Bridge, will take thousands of vehicles off residential streets every year, according to Massport.
