Bullhorn Inc., a Boston recruiting software company, said Wednesday it is acquiring two software firms that provide services to staffing and recruiting agencies.
With the addition of MaxHire Solutions Inc. of Vancouver, British Columbia, and Sendouts Inc., based in St. Louis, Bullhorn will have 5,000 clients, 250 employees, and a projected $70 million a year in revenues, up from $40 million this year, the company said. Bullhorn did not disclose what it paid.
Bullhorn pioneered the concept of making candidate and client information accessible online. The acquisitions, the company said, will create the world's largest recruiting software team.
MaxHire and Sendouts will continue to operate in Vancouver and St. Louis, respectively, with MaxHire chief executive Peter Blitz becoming Bullhorn's product innovation officer and Sendouts chief executive Brian Hopcraft serving as general manager.

Art Papas, a Weston native and Tufts University graduate, cofounded Bullhorn in 1999, and the company has grown rapidly in recent years as temporary and contract job openings increase with the improving economy. Earlier this year, the private equity firm Vista Equity Partners in Austin, Texas, acquired Bullhorn for more than $100 million.
