The Anti-Defamation League of New England said it would honor Bain Capital partner and philanthropist Jonathan Lavine with its 2012 Distinguished Community Service Award at a dinner event Wednesday night.

Lavine is managing partner and investment chief at Bain’s Sankaty Advisors, a debt investment group he founded in 1997 and which oversees $19 billion.
