As NHL lockout drags, no gain for colleges and minors

Bill Sall usually watches about half of the Boston Bruins games on television, but two or three times a season he spends the money to see them at TD Garden.

“It’s one of my favorite sporting events to go to because the atmosphere is so great,” said Sall, a data analyst from Brighton, who writes a sports blog in his spare time.

I LOVED the last NHL lockout, the AHL hockey was amazing and so cheap!  College hockey (at least BU hockey) is probably down because it is really expensive!  I remember the old days - BU hockey was $5, now you have to take out a mortgage to go there.  During the last lockout many NHL players were in the minors and many of the college players jumped to the minors so I got to see the professional debuts of many pro players with others sitting in the stands.  It was great!  I highly encourage people to go to the AHL and college games because when the lockout is over (maybe next year) the AHL hockey will be no where near as good and the college kids will have jumped to the NHL.  Support your local teams, go see some games.

Strike is showing that the Bruins have " Bruins fans " , NOT " hockey fans'
