As NHL lockout drags, no gain for colleges and minors
Thanks to the NHL lockout, it has been 222 days since the Boston Bruins last played a game. But in the Bruins’ absence, fans are not flocking to college and minor league games, as might be expected. In fact, attendance is down or flat for many area hockey clubs. Across the board, athletic directors and minor league club officials say the Bruins set the temperature for hockey interest throughout the region. Without the B’s, fans’ appetite for hockey is suppressed.
