Dance station replaces WFNX on the FM dial

Clear Channel Media and Entertainment launched an electronic dance music radio station in Boston on 101.7 FM Thursday, the former signal of alternative rock station WFNX. The news ends months of speculation about what Clear Channel would do with the frequency it purchased from the Phoenix Media/Communications Group in May for $14.5 million.

The new station, Evolution 101.7 WHBA, will broadcast the same electronic dance music featured on Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio Internet station Evolution.

Electronic dance music. Mindless music that encourages stupidity. Clearly the dumbing down of America is the goal of Clear Channel

Not just Clear Channel. This type of thing seems to be the norm for all major media conglomerates. Playing down to the lowest common denominator makes lots of money. What does that say about our society?

It's disgusting to see a fantastic radio station, like WFNX, turn into unimaginative drivel for the addle-minded. Sadly there are no radio stations in Boston that I can listen to anymore without wanting to puke.

Yuk! Replacing greatness with unimaginative crap. The dumbing down of radio by the huge conglomerates continues. Evolution my a$$!
