Some wealthy stand fast—for higher taxes

His taxes are going up, and Woody Kaplan isn’t happy.

“I’m disappointed that they’re not going up more,” said Kaplan, a retired Back Bay real estate developer who is now a civil liberties activist.

The increase is only 4.6% and so a married couple making over $450,000 will pay only $4600 more per every $100,000 in income tax on what they earn over $450,000. If they make $1,450,000 they will pay an additional $46,000 on that $1,000,000. It is really not too onerous and it was not worth fighting and bringing the country to the edge of a crisis.
