Data-storage stocks, Dow Jones reported, “are flashing warning signs” after William Blair downgraded Hopkinton-based EMC Corp. — a giant in the industry — and Fusion-io Inc., a newer Salt Lake City company, to “market perform.” That neutral rating comes, Blair says, on too-aggressive expectations for 2013 on Wall Street. EMC, Blair warns, could suffer “choppy” near-term results as companies move data to the cloud and show renewed enthusiasm for server-storage bundles.
