Hologic Inc. jumped to its highest price since April, Dow Jones reported, as the Bedford company said Norwegian researchers found a significant gain in breast cancer detection rates when using Hologic’s 3-D mammography technology in combination with a 2-D mammogram. Their study cited a 15 percent decline in the number of false positives, a 40 percent increase in the detection of invasive breast cancers, and a 27 percent increase in the detection of all cancers.
