The Massachusetts unemployment rate ticked upward to 6.7 percent in December, the sixth month the rate has held steady or increased, state officials said Thursday.
The state also added 7,500 jobs in December and about 51,000 jobs overall last year, the report said.

but lets raise taxes
Keep up the great work Obama!
And Governor Patrick is going to get a Kennedy Profile in Courage award, for raising taxes :(
The Massachusetts economy is like a bucket with a big hole in the bottom of it. The jobs which are added cannot off-set the thousands of jobs we have lost and are losing due to Off-shoring in the financial services industry by firms like JP Morgan Chase and State Street Corporation (STT). Unless Congress creates a Committee and Hearings on US Off-Shoring and hauls the likes of State Street's current CEO Jay Hooley his Joint Venture Director Allen Greene and the its HR Director Allison Quirk in front of a hearing and forces these people to tell the truth about how many US and specifically Massachusetts jobs they have dumped in INDIA for pennies on the dollar, the Massachusetts economy will never recover and the future of our children in Massachusetts will forever be at risk.
