Suffolk Construction specialities include building facilities in the science-and-technology, health care, and higher education industries, and those sectors are flourishing in and around New York City. To better serve those industries in the New York City metro area, Suffolk is opening an office in Tarrytown, N.Y.

Before joining Suffolk Construction, Sanborn had a leadership role at the New York-based healthcare and life sciences division for general contractor Structure Tone. His resume also includes stints at Skanska USA Building Inc. Lehrer McGovern Bovis, and Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., Suffolk Construction said.

“We are very excited to have Mark lead our New York-based operations to penetrate this new market, drive new business, and raise our visibility in this high-growth region of the country,” Peter Campot, president of Suffolk’s health care and science-technology divisions, said in a statement. “Mark has the leadership skills, hands-on management experience, and existing relationships with top-tier clients that will allow us to strengthen our presence in New York, deliver on our ‘build smart’ brand, and continue to expand into new markets in New Jersey, Western Connecticut, and the Mid-Atlantic.”
