WBUR, a National Public Radio news station in Boston, plans to begin broadcasting its programming Saturday on its new 92.7-FM signal on Martha’s Vineyard. The signal had been held by a rock station, WMVY.

In November, WBUR said it would buy the 3,000-watt signal from Aritaur Communications for an undisclosed amount — part of a plan to expand its reach in Southeastern Massachusetts and add as many as 60,000 listeners.
