Cruise lawsuits are in, but Carnival has advantage

MIAMI — Lawsuits have already been filed in connection with the disastrous Triumph cruise ship voyage, but the legal deck is stacked in Carnival Corp.’s favor, mainly because of the restrictive terms on tickets that govern who can sue, and where.

Carnival’s ship was disabled Feb. 10 by an engine fire, stranding thousands of passengers for days in the Gulf of Mexico.
