Clever idea! I would definitely remove all personally identifying documents...vehicle registration?...from the vehicle so that my garage door openers do not allow the renter access to my home.
I would like a guarantee that my car will not be rented to anyone under the age of 40. That reduces the chance that they will beat the crap out of the vehicle, with damage showing up much later, and beyond the liability period.
1 million liability insurance is not enough, what if the driver is involved in a major collision and causes permanent disability to 1 or more people? I would never rent my car out like this.
Not sure you would be able to "remove" the registration information, as that is needed if asked for when pulled over. Maybe a copy with just the owner's name and no address or the FlightCar address? Yep, you'd have to delete the homelink programming and possibly even the bluetooth settings. I've rented cars that had other people's phones configured, and their entire phonebook still in them. Age rental restriction is a good idea. I agree that $1 million coverage isn't enough. I would consider renting these cars though to save some money. 90/mi a day? That needs work. Wonder what happens if/when one of these cars breaks down? Hope the renter has AAA?
