Bloomberg Radio, a 24-hour station focused on business news, said its programming will begin airing on Clear Channel’s WXKS radio station in the Boston market.
Starting March 1, WXKS is scheduled to offer Bloomberg’s up-to-date market coverage, in addition to local news, traffic, weather, and sports, Bloomberg Radio and Clear Channel said in a press release.
“We’re excited about expanding Bloomberg Radio into Boston, an important market for those who manage money, move the markets and shape the innovations of tomorrow,” Al Mayers, head of Bloomberg Radio, said in a statement. “With Bloomberg 1200 AM and a signal for those with HD radio on 94.5FM-HD2, Bostonians can tap into the insightful conversations with influential analysts, economists, and business leaders that Bloomberg Radio is known for.”
In a separate statement, Mary Menna, market president for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Boston, added: “Boston is one of the top markets for financial services, technology, health care, and higher education. Our agreement with Bloomberg Radio to provide its premiere business content to Boston listeners is a perfect fit for this area.”
The radio station will feature contributions from media in Bloomberg’s Boston bureau of 26 editors and reporters. Bloomberg News’ US investment and education reporting teams are based in Boston.
Bloomberg Radio’s programming includes “Bloomberg Surveillance” with hosts Tom Keene and Ken Prewitt, “Bloomberg on the Economy” with hosts Carol Massar and Michael McKee, and “Charlie Rose” in the evenings.
