General Motors Co. said it will hire 1,000 workers to staff an information technology center in suburban Phoenix — the fourth and final center GM will announce. The others are in Roswell, Ga., Warren, Mich., and Austin, Texas. The automaker is hiring software developers, project managers, database experts, business analysts, and other information technology professionals. It wants to develop software and other technology in-house instead of relying on outside companies.
