Developers plan project in Roxbury

A team of developers is proposing to build a $44 million complex along Melnea Cass Boulevard in Roxbury that would include an expanded Tropical Foods supermarket, residences, offices, and stores.

Madison Park Development Corp. and Tropical Foods International said they intend to begin construction in July, hoping to take advantage of tax credits to help replace the current Tropical Foods. The project would occupy 2.75 acres of property, known as Parcel 10, at the corner of Melnea Cass Boulevard and Washington Street.
