Pros and cons of new Wi-Fi routers

PROS: AC standard delivers much higher wireless data throughput than earlier Wi-Fi routers. Also act as wired Ethernet routers. Easy setup and configuration. Dual-band technology makes them backward-compatible with older Wi-Fi gear.

CON: High price compared to previous generation of routers; most existing Wi-Fi equipment isn’t AC-compatible and won’t see a speed improvement.
