Massachusetts has regained all the jobs lost in the last recession after a strong and steady recovery that has progressed faster than the nation as whole.
The state Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development reported Thursday that employment in Massachusetts reached 3.3 million jobs, 14,000 more than it had in April 2008, when employment peaked before the recession.

As the Mass Tank and Cape Wind manufacturing deal is dead, so are the promised 300 jobs in the U.S. IF Cape Wind actually secures financing, and a DOE loan despite five pending federal lawsuits, its jobs would be created overseas on the backs of U.S. citizens.
Each green job costs taxpayers multi-millions.

Investigative reporter Ira Stoll writes in Future of Capitalism about Boston-based First Wind job cost. It's important to the that the CEO of First Wind is Governor Sally Reynolds appointed Advisor on green policy, and low-cost, green-job-creating measures:
"First Wind Holdings LLC will get a $117 million loan guarantee from federal "stimulus" funds to finance the construction and start-up of a wind energy project in Kahuku, Hawaii, the federal Department of Energy announced Friday. Once complete, the project will create "six to ten" jobs, according to the Department of Energy. At $117 million, works out to a federally guaranteed loan of between $19.5 million and $11.7 million for each job created...."

Massachusetts is #8 in the U.S. in states anticipated to go bankrupt. Putting all of our eggs in the Gov's green basket will certainly help Massachusetts to get there from here.
