Alaska Airlines begins nonstop San Diego-to-Boston flights

Alaska Airlines has begun offering nonstop flights between San Diego and Boston, the sixth new city the carrier has begun serving from San Diego in the past year.

The announcement from the airline on Friday, when the service began, included a statement from Ed Freni, director of aviation for the Massachusetts Port Authority, which owns and operates Logan International Airport.
