Shares of Best Buy surged after the retailer said it will create in-store kiosks for Samsung products — a signal it believes the brick-and-mortar format is still an important way to sell electronics. The company has struggled with ‘‘showrooming’’ as more people browse in stores but then buy the items they inspected online. But Best Buy has fought back under new CEO Hubert Joly by matching online prices, giving employees more training, cutting costs, and revamping stores.
