Japan Airlines to resume Boston-Tokyo flights on 787

Japan Airlines plans to resume its daily Boston-Tokyo on the Boeing 787 on June 1, the carrier announced Tuesday, following aviation authorities’ approval last week of Boeing’s new lithium ion battery system. Japan Airlines will also restart 787 service from Tokyo to San Diego, Singapore, and Beijing June 1, followed by flights to Delhi July 12, Moscow and San Francisco Sept. 1, and Sydney and Bangkok in December.

Japan Airlines is currently flying the Boston-Tokyo route four times a week on a Boeing 777. The airline also announced Tuesday that it would be adding personal TVs on all its international aircraft.
