CommonWealth REIT reappointed Joseph Morea to its board after he was not reelected. The Newton real estate investment trust said that when Morea did not receive the necessary number of votes at its annual meeting on Tuesday, he resigned. The REIT said it determined Morea probably didn’t get the necessary number of votes because of the board’s opposition to hostile takeover efforts by minority shareholders Corvex Management LP and Related Fund Management LLC. The board said Morea’s continued presence would be in the REIT’s best interests.
