Shares of software design firm Autodesk Inc. slumped on first-quarter earnings of 42 cents per share, which fell short of estimates of 45 cents. The company also lowered its second-quarter forecast to between 39 and 44 cents, compared to estimates of 51 cents. Revenues for the period fell 3.1 percent to $570.4 million, coming up short of estimates of $586 million. “A mixed global economy weighed heavily on our first-quarter results,” said chief executive Carl Bass.
