The five door chimes still hit their notes in this 84-year-old brick Colonial located directly across the street from the quiet end of Revere Beach. The chimes are one of many intact original features, which also include oak floors, lighting fixtures, and dual closets in the front mudroom. Curved entryways decorated with expansive gumwood trim with keystone decorations separate the first-floor rooms. Off the main entry is a large living room with a richly carved mahogany mantel surrounding a gas fireplace. A rectangular library, now used as a bedroom, is adjacent. The formal living room has gumwood wainscoting, an original chandelier, and a door to the fully updated kitchen.

The kitchen, awash in natural light from large windows, has extensive dark granite counters, recessed lighting, a breakfast nook, a pantry, and a half-bath. A door leads to a rectangular rear deck overlooking the backyard, which is need of significant upgrade. A curving wooden staircase with gumwood wainscoting leads to the second floor, where there is a sitting area with beach views. The master suite has large bedroom space, a private bath with a shower, a deep closet, and its own 208-square-foot deck with unobstructed ocean views.

The children’s rooms are equal-sized, with good closet space and natural light. The family bath is large, still in its original purple and black tile decorations, with a separate tub and shower stall. There is a slate roof and a two-car garage under the house.

Richard Palladino of Century 21 North Shore is the listing broker.
