A Superior Court Judge in Worcester has lifted an injunction holding up the New York Times Co.’s sale of the Boston Globe and related news businesses to Red Sox owner John Henry.

Judge Shannon Frison said in an order Thursday afternoon that the Times Co. had agreed to set aside the fair market value of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette -- which is also owned by the Times Co. -- to satisfy its potential liability in a long-running dispute between the Worcester paper and a group of former news carriers.

The lawyer representing the former Telegram & Gazette carriers was expected to try and seek an immediate appeal of the decision. The Times Co. was moving forward to close the deal Thursday.
