Akamai stock jumps after it says Apple is still a customer

Akamai, the leading provider of cloud services for delivering online content, says iPhone maker Apple is still a major customer.

Cambridge-based Akamai Technologies Inc. led the S&P 500’s gainers after the online content delivery company allayed fears it had lost Apple Inc. as a customer. The stock soared 20.6 percent. Also, quarterly revenue rose 15 percent year-over-year to $436 million, the company said this week; net income was $80 million, up 18 percent. For the full year, revenue rose 15 percent and profit increased 44 percent.
