Changes at Harvard Management

Harvard Management Co.’s head of private equity is leaving for another elite investment job — as head of Fidelity Investments chairman Edward C. “Ned” Johnson 3d’s personal wealth management firm.

Lane MacDonald will become president of the Johnson family’s money manager, Crosby Advisors, at the end of the month, according to an internal Harvard e-mail obtained by the Globe.
