Akamai’s Sochi content delivery soars

Cambridge’s Akamai Technologies Inc., which specializes in Web content delivery, said Friday that it has already delivered more data for the Sochi Winter Olympics than it did for all of the London Olympics in 2012. Akamai said it is supporting more than 20 rights-holders worldwide in delivering Olympics content, including NBC, France Televisions, and TV2 Norway. Earlier this month, Akamai reported fourth-quarter 2013 revenue of $436 million, up 15 percent year-over-year.
