JetBlue to launch Hyannis-New York service

JetBlue Airways will start offering service between Hyannis and New York this summer, flying into Barnstable Municipal Airport once a day from June 26 to Sept. 29.

It will be JetBlue’s first destination on Cape Cod; the carrier flies to Martha’s Vineyard from New York and to Nantucket from New York and Boston. The airline will be the only major carrier to fly out of Hyannis, which is also served by Cape Air, Island Air, and Nantucket Airlines.

JetBlue, the largest airline at Logan International Airport, has expanded to several cities in New England recently, launching service out of Worcester in November and out of T.F. Green Airport near Providence in late 2012.
