Kristen Cavallo will be the new president of ad agency Mullen’s flagship Boston office, Mullen chief executive Alex Leikikh said Tuesday.

Cavallo started her career at Mullen 20 years ago, working on ad campaigns for BMW and Timberland. She then worked for the Martin Agency in Richmond, Va. Since 2011, she has served as Mullen’s chief strategy officer. According to the agency, she was instrumental in winning several clients for Mullen, including Acura, American Greetings, and US Cellular.

Cavallo is a two-time winner of the Jay Chiat Award, an industry award for strategic excellence. The awards were for her work on Volkswagen and Coca-Cola ads.
