Help decide the top 100 women-led businesses

The Boston Globe Magazine and The Commonwealth Institute, a local nonprofit, on Thursday opened the survey for their 13th annual Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts list.

This year the survey will include both for-profit and nonprofit organizations and incorporate new ranking criteria. The honorees will be announced Oct. 24 at a breakfast hosted by the institute and will be published in the Oct. 26 issue of the Globe Magazine.

Although revenue (or operating budget) will remain an essential component of the Top 100 list, the magazine and institute will also consider workplace and board diversity, innovation, and the number of full-time employees. Organizations are being asked to take the survey to be considered for the list. Unlike previous years, revenue or budget figures will not be published. To submit a survey for your company, visit the Commonwealth Institute website at The deadline is May 30.

There are nearly 200,000 women-owned companies in Massachusetts. The institute is focused on helping women-led businesses become and stay successful.
