Travel firm acquires Newburyport website

Newton-based TripAdvisor said it had acquired Vacation Home Rentals, a Newburyport-based vacation rentals website. Vacation Home features more than 14,000 properties around the world. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. This acquisition is the second for the TripAdvisor Vacation Rentals group in the last year. In May 2013, TripAdvisor acquired Niumba, a vacation rentals website in Spain. TripAdvisor says its sites now feature more than 550,000 rental properties around the world.
