Akamai income up 13% in first quarter

Akamai Technologies Inc., the Cambridge cloud services technology firm, said first-quarter 2014 income came in at $105 million, up 13 percent over 2013’s $93 million. Revenue was $454 million, up 23 percent over last year’s $368 million. CEO Tom Leighton said the results “demonstrated continued momentum across all our solution offerings and geographies.” Akamai projected revenue this quarter in a range of $464 million to $478 million, above the average estimate of $457 million.
