The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority said Wednesday that it booked 38 future events for its Boston venues during June, breaking the previous record of 30 events booked during December 2005.

The authority operates the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center and the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center, which is also in Boston. Events booked during June are for both venues.

State officials are considering a $1 billion expansion plan for the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. The Massachusetts Senate approved that proposal in June. The Massachusetts House previously signed off on a similar bill.

Among the events booked in June were a 2024 event for the American College of Physicians and a 2023 event for the International Foundation of Employee Benefits. Each of those events is expected to generate nearly 25,000 hotel room nights.
