Attend an intermediate level class on coding language with coding groups Boston Java and Boston Android. Students will have the chance to learn and discuss the benefits of dependency injection frameworks, which are used to manage online services. Food and beverages will be provided. WORKSHOP

Visual design fundamentals

Aaron Scott, founder and creative director of Symbolic Design, is teaching a class on the rudimentary aspects of visual design. Students will have the opportunity to learn about key terms for communicating visual problems, color theory, typography, layout, creative briefs, and approval processes. Tuesday, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., General Assembly, 125 Summer St., 13th floor, Boston. $40.

The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce is hosting an event for startups and small businesses to receive advice and guidance from business experts from Google, Amazon, Staples, State Street, and Bose. Attendees can sign up for sessions covering human resources, sales, marketing, and finance. Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Babson College, 100 High St., Boston. $50 for members, $75 for nonmembers.

Mass Innovation Nights

Come support local innovation at a technology showcase hosted by Draper’s Sembler Office, a startup incubator. Attendees will have the chance to network and experience new gadgets, including a pressure sensor tool for prosthetic gear and a device that disables smartphones while driving.
