Vertex slips as executives shift

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. has begun seeking a new head of its commercial team. The company reported Friday that chief commercial officer Nancy Wysenksi is retiring. Vertex last month revealed it had released incorrect clinical data that overstated the benefit of a cystic fibrosis therapy, and led to a 55 percent rise in its stock May 7. On May 29, the shares fell the most in three years after the company revised the data. Chief legal officer Ty Howton is also leaving, to be replaced by Kenneth Horton.
