Newton-based TripAdvisor Inc.’s shares soared after the online travel review service company reported third-quarter results that exceeded expectations. Net income jumped 9 percent to $59.4 million, or 41 cents per share. TripAdvisor’s revenue increased 18 percent to $212.7 million on higher ad and subscription revenue. Steve Kaufer, TripAdvisor CEO, said the firm is “making wonderful strides to enhance the TripAdvisor experience’’ for both travelers advertising partners alike.
