The Boston Globe's impact on our community goes beyond the pages of the news, information and opinion read in the newspaper.  From direct charitable contributions to scholarships for higher education, to music, sports and the arts.  The Globe reaches thousands of people in Greater Boston and New England through a wide range of community and public service programs.

Globe Santa

The Globe Santa Fund collects donations from readers and advertisers to purchase holiday gifts for underprivileged children.

Newspaper in Education

For over 30 years, The Boston Globe Newspaper in Education (NIE) program has been providing newspapers and curriculum to schools to help educate young minds.

Globe Foundation

Established in 1982, the Boston Globe Foundation has distributed more than $32 million to local nonprofit agencies to support a wide range of services.


Globe Tours

The Globe offers free tours of its Boston facility, including the printing plant. The tour takes about an hour and includes a short videotape. Participants must be 9 years of age or older and groups are limited to maximum of 30 people.

Tours are by reservation only and must be scheduled in advance.
