Over a week’s time, patterns of use by regular and casual users settle into predictable waves. On weekdays, the green line showing regular, registered users spikes at the morning and evening commutes, with a little hill in the middle at lunchtime. On weekends, casual riders (tourists, or city folks on an occasional adventure) surge to overtake the daily users, their numbers peaking in the late afternoon.
