NBC sources have confirmed that the character Ellis Boyd will not be returning to the series “Smash” next season, which is too bad because Jaime Cepero , the actor who played the devious personal assistant to Anjelica Huston , is from East Bridgewater. Cepero’s publicist told us the actor isn’t commenting on his departure from the show just yet, but that she’ll keep us posted about any future Ellis sightings on “Smash” and Cepero’s other projects. Cepero got his start in community theater in East Bridgewater and Norwell — and at Boston’s SpeakEasy Stage Company.
