John Williams celebrated his 80th birthday in style Thursday, leading his former band, the Boston Pops, in a program of music Williams composed for the movies. Selections included music from “The Adventures of Tintin,” “Jaws,” “Star Wars,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” and “E.T.” The celebration was part of the annual “Presidents at Pops,” the orchestra’s signature fund-raiser (cochaired this year by Intercontinental Real Estate Corp. chief executive Peter Palandjian and Fireman Capital Partners principal Dan Fireman ). Conductor Keith Lockhart presented Williams onstage with an impressive cake (made by Montilio’s Bakery in Brockton) in the shape of Symphony Hall, and the audience joined the orchestra in singing “Happy Birthday” to the noted composer.
