A Sunday tea to celebrate the Queen

Bill Brett for The Boston Globe

The Langham Hotel hosted a Tiffin afternoon tea on Sunday to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Guests in the hotel’s restaurant Bond included British Consul-General of Boston Dr. Phil Budden, Vice Consul Anne Avidon, President of the Longwood Symphony Orchestra Dr. Lisa Wong, and Bond hostess Jessica Bernal, who sipped tea and celebrated frilly accessories with Molly Storer (far right, with Bernal). Cucumber sandwiches were served, and tea was only 15 cents — what it cost when the Langham first opened in London in 1865. In case you’re wondering, the hats are from Sermoneta Gloves on Newbury Street.
