Jeff Daniels says ‘Dumb and Dumber’ sequel not happening

So much for the sequel to “Dumb and Dumber.” The on-again off-again project is apparently off again, at least according to Jeff Daniels, Jim Carrey’s costar in Peter and Bobby Farrelly’s funny — and wildly successful — 1995 film. You’ll recall that during the spring, the Farrellys let it slip that the long-rumored sequel was in the works, and the original cast was returning. But then Carrey’s agent said the actor was “frustrated” with the way the studios were handling the project, and he pulled out. (“I would have thought ‘Dumb and Dumber To’ was a no-brainer, after all it’s implied in the title,” Carrey told ETonline.com.) This week, Daniels was ambushed by a paparazzo asking about the status of the sequel. “It’s on the Internet,” the actor said. “We’re not doing it. It’s all over the Internet. It’s not happening.” That’s that.
