BET Awards pay tribute to Donna Summer

Matt Sayles/Invision via AP

It was nice to see Donna Summer celebrated at Sunday’s BET Awards. Producers of the show paid tribute to the late, great disco diva by having Chante Moore (above) perform a medley of Summer’s biggest hits. (Also honored during the broadcast were “Soul Train” creator Don Cornelius, “American Bandstand” host Dick Clark, and singer Whitney Houston.) Summer, a Boston native who attended Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Dorchester, died of cancer in May at the age of 63.
