Surfing is a thing these days, no longer limited to the young and adventurous. Thankfully, fashion has caught up, with ocean-friendly options that don’t scream, “Duuuude!” To wit: Fashion designer Cynthia Rowley, a dedicated surfer for years, got tired of searching for stylish wet suits. So a few years back, she got her hands on some neoprene and collaborated with surf brand Roxy. The results are consistently sexy, as with this season’s long-sleeved, super-short wet suits in bright color-block patterns, punctuated with neon topstitching. In addition to protecting against the ocean’s chill — not to mention the sun — the suits are figure flattering, smoothing over lumps and bumps. Color-block wet suit, $210 at Cynthia Rowley, 164 Newbury St., Boston 617-587-5240, www.cynthiarowley.com
