Hi! My name is Matthew. I love playing with dogs and I like video games!
Matthew is 9 and likes playing outside and playing video games.
This past year has been a transformative one for him, both academically and behaviorally. Matthew is thriving, aided at school by an Individualized Education Program that helps him with his challenges there.
And he is doing very well in his foster home, where he lives with a single mother and her three daughters. He is good with animals and enjoys helping with the dogs in the home.
Matthew, who is Hispanic, would do well in a family of any constellation, with or without other children, though he should be the youngest child. His future family should be open to maintaining contact with his birth siblings and potentially his birth mother.
Matthew benefits from regular therapy, and would do best with a family who could support his continued involvement in this work.
Save the date Aug. 18 for an adoption party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ironstone Farms in Andover for families interested in adopting children with intellectual and/or physical special needs.
Ironstone Farms is a therapeutic horseback riding facility, and families and children can spend their Sunday horseback riding and participating in arts and crafts activities. Families will have a chance to interact with adoptive parents experienced in special needs adoption, and with service providers who can support a family after adoption.
Lunch will be provided.
To RSVP or to learn more about Matthew, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-542-3678 or visit www.mareinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have “a permanent place to call home.”
