3. Dictionary of Real Estate Terms — Do you really know what “contingency” means? Or why title insurance is so important? INTERSOG’s 3,000-plus word dictionary of real estate jargon will help you decode the industry lingo, so you can ask the right questions, and know the right answers. $3.99 for iOS.

4. Walk Score — Check out the neighborhood amenities and compare commutes — by rail, bus, and bike — before you take a plunge. Free for iOS and Adroid.

5. Hammerpoint — In case you’re unaware, homes rarely come to you perfect and offering to cover a portion of initial repairs gives you a desirable edge. This repair estimate app, which boasts projected project quotes in four minutes or less, will make sure you don’t bite off more than you can chew. Free for iOS and Adroid.
