The One Thing

Caitlin McGauley’s stylish domestic views

Sometimes a picture of how perfect things could be is enough. Artist and former textile designer Caitlin McGauley renders watercolors of interiors so lovely, they immediately elicit tales of imaginary inhabitants as faultless as their homes. Her images are enough to inspire one to watch YouTube tutorials on styling bookshelves and mantelpieces. (McGauley also paints delectable floral still lifes and effortless urbanites.) Tiger Flower Studio, which represents artists in decorating and fashion fields, now offers limited-edition prints of such works, including this enviable room. “Red Chairs” by Caitlin McGauley, print, $360 at Liz Caan Interiors, 1066 Centre St., Newton Center, 617-244-0424, www.lizcaan.com
