You may not feel the same about conventional ketchup after tasting Sir Kensington’s Gourmet Scooping Ketchup. There are two flavors, classic and spiced ($7.95 for an 11-ounce jar), both thick and rich from whole tomatoes, sweet from raw sugar and agave nectar, tangy from apple cider vinegar and lime juice. Chipotle and jalapenos bring a dose of heat and smoke to the darker, spicier version, which makes a good cocktail sauce or Bloody Mary. Though a dapper gent adorns the label, Sir Kensington is fictitious. Two young New York founders, Scott Norton and Mark Ramadan, tested recipes while roommates at Brown University and launched their company two years ago. Sir Kensington may not exist, but the ketchup is genuine — and delicious. Available at Omaha Steaks, 120 Highland Ave., Needham, 781-449-2240; Formaggio Kitchen, 244 Huron Ave., Cambridge, 617-354-4750; Crate & Barrel, Sur la Table, and Williams Sonoma locations, or go to www.sirkensingtons.com.
